Biography

Private funeral services for Mrs. Ruby Heydon were held Thursday, Aug 20, at 1:30 p.m. from the Gesme Funeral Home. Her pastor, the Rev.E.R.Anderson, officiated. Burial was made in Mt Horeb Lutheran Cemetery. The pall bearers were Paul King, Henry Bonner, Henry Kittleson, Clarence Jeglum, Melvin Lund and Milo Lund. Mrs. Heydon was born June 27, 1916, in the town of Perry, and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She was murdered Monday, Aug. 17, 1942 on her way home from a birthday party. She is survived by her former husband, Merle Heydon of Madison, and by two children, Elizabeth Betty and Robert Heydon. She is also survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Lund of Mt Horeb, and four brothers, Lloyd, Obert and Marvin of Mt. Horeb, and Arthur, of Madison and by three sisters, Mrs. Irvin Severson and Mrs. Elmore Schultz, both of Madison, and Mrs. Lester Opsal of McFarland. The bereaved family have the sympathy of our community in the tragic death of their beloved daughter and mother.
