Anne West Strawbridge (1883 - 1941), was quite accomplished in several fields. Her family were successful her Father being a Dr. and land holder, a brother being Welsh Strawbridge successful stock broker and banker. Apparently she was of ample independent means as she was quite the adventurer. She published several books, was an accomplished painter, traveled the world and even climbed mountains. Her neighbor was the inventor of the AutoGyro. Of course she had one and flew it. She climbed the Matterhorn at 18 years of age. She used these adventures as the subjects of her books. She never married but enjoyed her sisters children holding a coming out party for Mary's daughters, Priscilla Sparks Sailer and Elizabeth Twells Sailer, at the family's opulent mansion at Grame park. Sadly She died after a three week illness in Abington Hospital of undiagnosed breast cancer at only 53 years of age.
