Biography

Nelson Davis Lynch was born January 7, 1930 in Columbus Ohio to Herston and Beadle (Hollingsworth) Lynch. At age 86, he passed away on October 26, 2016.

In the 1930 census Nelson (age 0) was the son of Huston Lynch at 223 Hinkle Avenue, Columbus, Franklin, Ohio, United States.^[1]

In the 1940 census Nelson (age 10) was the son of Gerston H Lynch in Columbus, Franklin, Ohio.^[2]

Nelson was a graduate of East High School in 1948 and was drafted into the US Army in 1951 during the Korean War. He served in Mannheim, Germany and was honorably discharged in 1953.

In the 1950 census Nelson (age 20) was the son of Herston H. Lynch in Columbus, Franklin, Ohio, United States.^[3] He retired from the DCSC in 1986 following 34 years of service; and worked as a Head Custodian at Ross Labs and the OEA Building for the City Janitorial Company for 14 years.

Nelson, son of Lynch, died (age 86) on 26 October 2016 in Ohio, United States.^[4]

Nelson was an active member of the Hosack Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife Mary (Byrd) Lynch and parents, Herston and Beadle Lynch; brothers, Amos Lynch, Herston Lynch Jr, Frank Lynch; and sister, Ernestine Genevieve Lynch.

Nelson is survived by his daughter, Marie Lynch Hunter; former son-in-law, Charles Hunter; son, Nathan (Elena) Lynch; grandchildren, Melanie (Marlon), Chad (fiance, Appollonia); great grandchildren, Mariah, Marquis, Marquel, Meliyah, Ra'Chad, Elijah, Noah, Chad Jr., Aniyah, Chyla, Joreah, and De'ajanae; sister, Jevelyn Bonner; brothers, Orville (Gwen) Lynch, David (Elaine) Lynch, Hugh (Jeannette) Lynch; brother-in-law, Richard (Cheryl) Byrd; sister-in-law, Mary Jane Byrd; foster daughter, Antoinnette; and god-daughter, Jennifer McKinney; special friend, Charlina Hubbard; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.
