Biography

Laughlin was born in 1827. He was the son of Allan MacKinnon and Mary MacLean. He passed away in 1907.

He moved to Upper Canada at the same time as his brother Charles and settled in St. Williams, later known as Walsingham, Norfolk Co.where he became a druggist/merchant. On his marriage certificate he is identified as a physician. In the 1891 census Laughlin's birth year is given as 1831 while the 1901 census states he was born in 1827. His grave marker agrees more closely with the 1891 census suggesting he was born in 1832.
