Biography

Simon (Mackenzie) Mackenzie of Lochslyne is a member of Clan Mackenzie.

Simon Mackenzie was born in 1600 at Cromarty, Ross & Cromarty, Scotland.

Simon was the youngest son of Kenneth Mackenzie, first Lord Kintail,[1] [2] and his wife, Isabel Ogilvie.

Simon was the brother of:

  1. Colin Mackenzie, first Earl of Seaforth, died without male children;[1]
  2. John, died without male children;[1]
  3. George Mackenzie, 2nd Earl of Seaforth;
  4. Thomas Mackenzie of Pluscardine,[1] married 1) Jean Grant, daughter of John Grant, 14th of Grant, relict of William Sutherland of Duffus, and mother of the first Lord Duffus, and 2) Jean Cockburn of Langton;[2]

Simon married Elizabeth Bruce and Agnes Fraser.

Simon had children:

  1. George Mackenzie,
  2. Simon Mackenzie,
  3. Elizabeth Mackenzie,
  4. Kenneth Mor Mackenzie,
  5. Isobel Mackenzie

Simon Mackenzie of Lochslyne[1] died in January 1666 at Cromarty, Ross & Cromarty, Scotland.
