Daughter of John "Ian Breac", son of Rev. Farquhard Macrae, minister of Kintail.

Catherine and Murdoch had a son; John, who married a daughter of Kenneth Matheson.

"Roderick Beag married Catherine, daughter of John Breac, son of Rev Farquhar Macrae of Kintail, Chief of the Clan; she was widow of Murdoch Matheson, son of Alister Mac Ian Og. (History of the Mathesons, p63)
