Thomas Mahone is a Military Veteran.
Served in the American Civil War

Thomas Flournoy Mahone was born July 21, 1834 to Marion David Mahone and Elizabeth Hines Yarbrough in Harris County, Georgia.

He served for the Confederate States of America in the Civil War. He was a Private in Company L, 6th Alabama Infantry Regiment. [1] Thomas enlisted on May 7, 1861 in Montgomery, Alabama. Detailed to stay with wounded July 3, 1863. Thomas served as a nurse.[2]

He married Sarah Catherine Peddy on June 8, 1865 in Lee County, Alabama. Their children were:

  1. Charles Marion Mahone
  2. Annie Elizabeth Mahone [3]
  3. Gussie Elizabeth Mahone
  4. John Thomas Mahone, Sr. [4]
  5. Minnie Buford Mahone
  6. Eloise Mahone
  7. James Fletcher Mahone [5]

In the 1880 United States Census, he is listed as 45 years old, married and living in Loachapoka, Alabama. His occupation is farmer.[6]

He died, at the age of 61, on August 25, 1895 in Loachapoka, Alabama. He is buried, near his wife, in the Loachapoka Cemetery in Loachapoka, Alabama. [7]
