He served for the Confederate States of America in the Civil War. He was a Private in Company L, 6th Alabama Infantry Regiment. [1] Thomas enlisted on May 7, 1861 in Montgomery, Alabama. Detailed to stay with wounded July 3, 1863. Thomas served as a nurse.[2]
He married Sarah Catherine Peddy on June 8, 1865 in Lee County, Alabama. Their children were:
In the 1880 United States Census, he is listed as 45 years old, married and living in Loachapoka, Alabama. His occupation is farmer.[6]
He died, at the age of 61, on August 25, 1895 in Loachapoka, Alabama. He is buried, near his wife, in the Loachapoka Cemetery in Loachapoka, Alabama. [7]
