OBITUARY.
MRS. LAYBURN.
It was with feelings of genuine regret that the people of Mount Barker heard on Saturday morning last that Mrs. Layburn, wife of Mr. Joseph Layburn, of this town, had succumbed to a severe attack of pneumonic influenza, after a short illness, at the age of 46 years. The deceased lady had, prior to contracting the disease, been most kind and assiduous in her attention to a like sufferer in her home; in fact, kindness to, and thoughtfulness for, those in need was one of the fine traits in the late Mrs. Layburn's character, and her death is not only a sad and irreparable loss to her husband and relatives, but it means the severance of a faithful and cherished friendship on the part of her many friends. The funeral took place on Sunday afternoon, and notwithstanding the wet weather it was largely attended. The Rev. Father McEvoy conducted the service at the graveside, and Mr. L. W. Carr carried out the funeral arrangements. [5]
