Anna Main married Aaron Abbe, son of Joseph and Tamezin Baker Abbe/Abbey about 1764. The couple's first child, James, was born in 1765 in Hopkinton, Massachusetts where the couple resided. In addition to James, the couple had children Tamezin, William Joshua Main, Sarah, Jerusha, Calvin, Joseph and John and Nancy Abbe/Abbey. All of them were born in Massachusetts except youngest child, Nancy, who was born in New York in 1785.
In 1775, Aaron Abbe, of Hopkinton, served as Second Lieutenant in Captain James Mellen's Company, Colonel Jonathan Ward’s Massachusetts Regiment at the beginning of the Revolutionary War.
By 1790, the Abbey family was living in Stephentown, Albany County, New York. A decade later, they had settled in Ontario County, New York.
