Marguerite Malaterre was born about 1819 in British North America.[1] She was the daughter of Jean Baptiste Malaterre (Métis) and Angelique Adam (Métis).

Louis Morin and Marguerite Malaterre were married about 1833 in la Prairie du Cheval Blanc, Rupert's Land, British North America. There were most likely married at Saint-François-Xavier, but records are not available before 1834. Their daughter Madeleine was born there in 1834.
