Louise married Virgil Walden Akin on December 8, 1912 in Bowie County, Texas.[4] The following year, her daughter Katherine Willie was born and her daughter Tommie in 1917.[5]

In 1930, she lived at 1214 West 6th Street in Texarkana, Bowie County, Texas.[6]

Sometime before her death, she lived in Shreveport, Caddo Parish, Louisiana where she died on November 28, 1973.[1] She was buried at Rose Hill Cemetery in Texarkana, Bowie County, Texas.[7]
