Loretta Manbeck was born to Morris Andrew Manbeck and Wilda Mae Tompkins. She was mentally disabled, blind, and deaf from birth.
Loretta's obituary reads: "Loretta Jean Manbeck, age 70, of Kentwood, went peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Friday, January 11, 2013, at Spectrum Health Blodgett Hospital. She was preceded in death by her mother, Wilda (Tompkins) McCluskey, her sister, Patti (Walker) Foster, her step-father, Warren Walker, and her father, Morris "Bud" Manbeck. Loretta is survived by her brothers, Thomas (Robin) Walker, Warren (Ruth) Walker, William Walker, and Wayne Terry Jo Walker; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her family and friends at Spectrum Community Services. A special thank you is extended to the staff at Spectrum Health Hospice and Blodgett Adult Critical Care for the compassionate and loving care given to Loretta. The service for Loretta will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the Pederson Funeral Home with Pastor Ralph Vunderink officiating. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Special Olympics, 1239 76th St., SW, Suite E, Byron Center, MI 49315. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m." [1]
Loretta is buried at Blythefield Memory Gardens in Belmont, Kent County, Michigan, United States. [2]
