Hilary (Mantel) McEwen DBE FRSL is Notable.
Hilary Mantel (born Hilary Mary Thompson) was born on 6 July 1952 in Derbyshire, England, to Henry and Margaret (Foster) Thompson. [1] Her parents separated, and her mother, Margaret, together with the children, began living with Jack Mantel. Hilary changed her name by deed poll to Mantel.
Mantel attended convent schools (she was raised a Catholic) before attending the London School of Economics to read Law. She continued her studies at the University of Sheffield.
She married Gerald McEwen in 1973; the marriage was registered in the Jul-Aug-Sep quarter of 1972 in the N.E.Cheshire district.[2]
Ms. Mantel died in September 2022 from complications of a stroke.
