On Sarah's death certificate it states that there were 23 children born in total. Some researchers have 16 discovered children, however, in the Gadd/Cowen Family research so far we have found 15 confirmed with records. This means another 4 male and 4 female children, are yet to be found.
"Sarah Gadd, widow of the late John Gadd arrived in Tasmania, January 12, 1840. At the time the photo was taken Sarah was the mother of 23 children, had lived to see 70 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren." - Weekly Courier.
Research Note
When Sarah Ann's husband John Gadd died in 1888, he was said to be residing at his home in Cascade Road, Hobart. And when her father died in 1889, he was said to be residing at his daughter's home in Cascade Road, Hobart. This is just further proof of the family relationships.
Baptism
Note, this may not be the correct baptism for Sarah, as her age at death points to a birth in 1833. She was 'under age' when she married in 1850, which means under 18 years of age, thus implying a birth 1833-34.
