Biography

Cyrille Marchand was a Canadian First Peoples and member of the Métis Nation.

Cyrille Marchand was born at St. Boniface on 15 Jan 1826 to Benjamin Marchand (French-Canadian) and Marguerite Nadeau (Métis).^[1]

Cyrille married Sophie Villeneuve (daughter of Michel Charles Villeneuve and Marguerite Montagnaise).^[2]

At the time of the 1870 census of Manitoba, their family was enumerated at St. Norbert.^[3]

On 18 Nov 1875, Cyrille completed an affidavit claiming Métis scrip, which was issued on 20 Sep 1876.^[1]

He passed away at Ritchot, Manitoba on 16 Aug 1907.^[4]
