Biography

When Anna Barbara Marcolfs was born on March 3, 1702, in Großingersheim, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, her father, Burkhart, was 40, and her mother, Elsa, was 38. She married Johann Peter Bender and they had seven children together. The family immigrated to America in 1750 and resided in York, PA for many years. Her husband died in 1753 but Anna Barbara lived another 20 years. She died on May 19, 1770, in Leimen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, at the age of 68.
