Biography

Antonino was born 1768 ^[1] in Sciacca, son of Ignazio Marino and Saveria Graffeo ^[2]. He married Maria Catanzaro in 1792 ^[3] and they had at least 6 children. He died in 1853 at age 84.

Maestro Antonino was a shoemaker by profession ^[4].

Research Notes

His marriage record names his mother as Saveria Graffeo; his death record names her Saveria Tauci, or something similar. The marriage record is far more likely to be correct as he was alive then and likely to know his mother's name. His death was reported by the undertaker and a Baldassare Giambalvo of unknown relationship to the family.

Similarly, his marriage record says he was from Sciacca, and his death record says he was born in Santa Margarita. The marriage record wins.
