Biography

George William Markie was born 4 September 1874 in Auckland, New Zealand.[1]

George William married Mary Pierce 21 February 1894 in Gisborne, New Zealand.[2] Their children were:

  1. Bertie George Markie (~1896 - )[3]
  2. Leonard William Markie (~1899 - )[4]
  3. Ronald Markie (~1901 - )[5]
  4. Eva Kate Markie (~1901 - )[6]
  5. John Ernest Markie (~1905 - )[7]
  6. Percival Birch Markie (~1914 - )[8]

George William died 4 July 1945 in Gisborne, New Zealand.[9][10][11] He is buried at Taruheru Cemetery.[12]
