Johann Christoph Marquardt (or Marquard)[1] was born in Hohefeld, Baden-Wurttemburg (Germany) in 1829.
He married Anna Maria Fünkner in 1852 shortly before emigrating to NSW on the 'Triton' sailing from Hamburg in November, 1852, arriving Sydney, NSW in May 1853.
They had children who, in NSW, adopted the surname 'Marquet' in most cases:
In NSW, he had secured employment as a vine-dresser with Alexander Park, at “Lewinsbrook”, near Gresford NSW.
Christoph died as the result of falling from height on 4th February, 1868, while working at the property 'Caergwrle’ (Allynbrook) on the Allyn River[2].
