Biography

Elizabeth Marr was born on 2 September 1748 at Amwell Township, Hunterdon, New Jersey. She was the daughter of Lawrence Marr and his wife Esther.[1][2]

She married Zeboeth Brittain.[3][4][5]

Elizabeth Brittain is shown by the Census of 1790 as a resident of Lower Mt. Bethel township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania. Her family was then 2 males 16 and up, 1 male under 16 and 6 females. It is almost a certainty that this Elizabeth was a widow at that time.[6]

Death date is deemed most likely though uncertain. There are sources showing different dates: 1) 18 June 1805 in "Miller and Pursel Families". The author states the information is an extract of information from records of Rev. Alem Brittain. Alem was Elizabeth's grandson. 2) Van Name says Elizabeth died in 1813. 3) James and John Brittain give 18 June 1815.
