Biography

Hiram was born in 1837. He was the son of Alem Marr and Hannah Thornton.

Hiram married (1) Sarah E Campbell (1835-1871), about 1858 in Pennsylvania, USA. Their Children were:

  1. Wilber Fisk Marr, b 1859
  2. Mary Matilda Marr, b 1862
  3. Hannah Elizabeth Marr, b 1866
  4. William Chester Marr, b 1871

Hiram married (2) Elmira Welliver (1836-1900), 28 Dec 1871 in Greenwood, Columbia, Pennsylvania, USA.

Their children were:

  1. Margaret Marr, b 1874

In 1879, Hiram recieved a pension for serving three years in the Civil War with the Pennsylvania 84th Infantry, Co. F. and with the Pennsylvania 57th Infantry, Co H. Promoted to Corporal 1 Mar 1865. promoted to Sargent 1 Jun 1865. Mustered out with Co 29 Jun 1865.[1][2]

In 1880, Hiram, age 43, married, laborer, living in Scott Columbia, Pennsylvania, with Elmira, age 44 and daughter, Margaret, age 5.[3]

He passed away in 1901 and is buried in the Highland Cemetery, Light Street, Columbia County, Pennsylvania, USA.[4]

Marr-1442 and Marr-561 appear to represent the same person because: Duplicate although birth year is different. There is a source for correct year 1835. Please merge.
