Biography
Pierre Martin was born at Nantes, France on July 29, 1819 He was the eldest child of Pierre-François Martin and Marie-Ann-Fanie Boureau Pierre drowned in a shipwreck as a young boy. (The French word used is 'naufrage' perhaps a boating accident?) Another source says 'lost at sea'.
