Original settlers to La Rociada. Page 23 states, "Another Maestas family member living in Rociada Abajo was that of Miguel Maestas. In 1883 Miguel married a Rafaela Martin, daughter of Soledad Martinez, who was supposedly raised by a certain Adams family, although Rafaela referred to them as Aramos. Miguel was a son of Matias Maestas and Francisca Trujillo, although it is not known where Matias was from. Rafaela and Miguel had seven children including Ricardo, Abedon, Juan, Seledon, Candelaria, Beatris and Epifania. Ricardo was adopted by Ramon Maestas. Miguel Maestas worked on the Pendaries family ranch."
