Peter was a roman catholic. He married Catharina Bauer from Miesbach around 1766; they had a daughter.

Peter could be identical with Peter Marx from Elzerath or with Peter Marx from Haag.

OFB Veldenz gives Catharina Bauer's birth place as Miesbach; I assume that this was a mistake: There is only one Miesbach in Germany, and that is in Bavaria (too far away), also there are three Peter Marx in the family books of the area (which are from Horath and are married to a woman with the maiden name of Bauer in a similar time frame) which is rather unlikely. Children's birth dates also match, as well as first names. I thus assume that there were only two Peter Marx with Bauer/Lauer wifes in Horath. One of the Peters mentioned above could also be in the mix.
