Biography
Jim Mathews is a part of US Black heritage.
In the 1910 census James (age 38), Bar Keeper, was the married head of household in Owensboro Ward 2, Daviess, Kentucky, United States.[1]
In the 1920 census James (age 45), Laborer, was the married head of household in Owensboro Ward 2, Daviess, Kentucky.[2]
In the 1930 census James (age 55), Laborer, was the married head of household at 927 Brekenridge Street, Owensboro, Daviess, Kentucky, United States.[3]
In the 1940 census James (age 65), Janitor, was the married head of household in Owensboro, Daviess, Kentucky.[4]
James' obituary was published on 5 December 1944 in Owensboro, Kentucky, United States. He died in about 1944 at 927 Breckenridge street.[5] According to his obituary, he was a player in the Negro Baseball League and played for the Owensboro Black Stockings.
