Biography
John was born in 27 August 1725 in Westerly, Rhode Island. On 30 October 1746 he married Sarah Burdick, daughter of Samuel Burdick, in Hopkinton,Kings County, Rhode Island. They had 9 children by 1768 (at the time he recorded his family in the Hopkinton Town Record). He served as Hopkinton Town Clerk (1768-1774) and Deputy Representative to the State Assembly (1777-1779). He signed the Hopkinton Oath of Allegiance in 1776 and was on the Committee to Receive Recruits during the Revolutionary War. He passed away 28 August 1791.
