Biography

Meredith was born on 12 September 1827 in North Carolina, United States. He was the son of Larkin Maynard and Phebey (Phillips) Maynard. He served his country by fighting in the Confederate Army in the 41st Regiment, Georgia Infantry, Company D from 30 April to 15 Oct 1862. He was a private.^[1] In 1850, Meredith (age about 22) was living in Pike, Georgia, United States.^[2] The same year, he married Nancy Willoughby on 18 March 1850 in Pike, Georgia, United States.^[3] Between 1860 and 1910, he and his family lived in Spalding, Georgia. He was 32 in 1860 and 82 in 1910 and consistently gives his occupation as "farmer."^{[4][5][6][7] [8]} Meredith died at the age of 84 on 12 April 1912 at an unknown location. He was buried after 12 April 1912 in Brooks, Fayette, Georgia, United States.^[9]
