Frank Paul McBride was born 5 Sep 1929 in Wolfeboro, NH.^{[1][2] [3]} He was the second child of Helen Irene (McHugh) McBride and Frank Patrick McBride^[3]. He was baptized at St. Anthony Church in Sanbornville, NH on 29 Sep 1929^[3]

He grew up in Wolfeboro ^{[4] [5]} and graduated from Brewster Academy in 1945 ^[6]. He entered the US Marine Corps on 4 Mar 1946 ^[7] and served during the Korean Conflict. On 13 Nov 1947, he was discharged Honorably with a rank of Private First Class ^[7].
