Biography

Eula (McCaleb) Barnett was born in Appalachia, in Alabama.

Eula Lee McCaleb was born on March 4, 1889 in Fayette County, Alabama. She was the daughter of Hugh Clark "Huey" McCaleb (1862-1948) and Margaret Eliza Harris. The 1900 Census confirms the relationships. Eula was attending school and can read and write.^[1]

On December 8, 1905 Eula married John W. Barnett in Carter County, Oklahoma. She was 18 years old.^[2]

By the time the 1810 Census was taken, Eula and John had moved to Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas. The couple had been married five years and have two children.^[3]

John passed away on July 23, 1937 in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas. He was 67 years old.^[4]

In 1920, Eula, now a widow, is living in Dallas Pricinct 11, Dallas County, Texas. She is 31 years old and has three children. She is working in the local canning factory.^[5]
