Biography

Loretta (or Loretto) McCarthy was born in 1907 in Salisbury, Massachusetts, the daughter of Patrick J McCarthy and Josephine Gertrude Harris. As late as 1930 she was living with her father in Newburyport, Massachusetts. It appears that she may have married Frederick Minalio before 1935. The 1940 Census shows her living with Frederick in Newburyport, Massachusetts, having lived in the same house in 1935. She died in 1985 and is buried in St. Mary's Cemetery, Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The grave marker has the names of her parents Patrick and Josephine, and her sister Mary who died in 1977, but no reference to her husband.
