Biography

Rosanna Melissa McConnell/^[1] was the older of two children and the only daughter of William McConnell and Elizabeth "Betsie" King. On 11 July 1834, when she was not yet eighteen years old, she married her second cousin Samuel Hill McChesney (1808-1838). She bore him two children, both sons, before he died on Christmas Eve, 1838.

She next married John Lowry, by whom she had five children, two boys and three girls. She died of unknown causes on 20 February 1855, when her youngest child, a boy was [rpbably less than a year old.
