Biography

James H.[1] McCool was born about 1829 in Alabama to Benjamin C. McCool and Mary Tatum.[1][2]

He married Nancy[3] Elizabeth[1] Lowery[4] about 1855[1] and the couple had the following known children:

  1. Thomas A. M. McCool was born about 1856 in Alabama.[3]
  2. William H. C. McCool was born about 1862 in Alabama.[3]
  3. James W. D. "Jim"McCool was born about 1868 in Mississippi[3] and died 02 Aug 1924 in Ellison Ridge, Winston County, Mississippi.[4]

James died before 1870 when we find his widow Nancy and the children alone on the census in Oktibbeha County, Mississippi.[3]
