Biography
- Ardelia McDermott was born on 11 November 1850 in Danville, Vermilion County, Illinois,[1] the only known child of Edward Lucinda Morgan McDermed, although her mother had had eight sons by her first husband.
- In 1861, when she was about eleven, she moved Ito Oregon in a covered wagon with her family.[2]
- Ardelia married twice.
- On 13 July 1873, when she was twenty-two, she married Levi Bacus, by whom she had six children.
- In 1891, Ardelia married John M. Lyon.
- On 21 August 1923, when she was seventy-two, she died in Gresham, Multnomah County, Oregon,[3] of unknown causes.
