Rose (nee McGuire) Carr was born in Dover, Morris County, New Jersey around 1848. Rose was the daughter of Irish immigrant parents, William and Susan McGuire.
Rose married Irish immigrant Thomas Carr in April, 1867 in the town of Randolph, Morris County, New Jersey. Catholic minister Rev. John Callan officiated the wedding.
Rose and Thomas would live their next 18+ years in Randolph before relocating to the City of Paterson, Passaic County, New Jersey at some point between 1885 and 1900. The marriage of Rose and Thomas resulted in the birth of at least nine known children (Mary, Susan, Rose, James, Margaret, John, William Joseph, Lena (Ellena) & Thomas).
Rose died at the purported age of 83 on December 30, 1933. She died at the home of her daughter Helen (Ellena/Lena) Noonan ("Mrs. Henry Noonan"), 127 Spring Street, Passaic, Passaic County, New Jersey. According to Rose's obituary, she had been living at her daughter's for about 10 years at the time of her death.
The funeral took place on January 2, 1934 at St. Nicholas Church in Passaic. Rose was buried at St. Mary's Cemetery in Dover, Morris County, New Jersey.
- Added 1850 U.S. Census for Randolph Township, Morris County, New Jersey. Rose Ann, who was born in New Jersey, is identified here as "Rosannah," age five, which would mean a birth year of about 1845. Rose Ann's parents William (b. abt. 1816 in Ireland) and Susan (b. abt. 1817 in Ireland) are identified in this Census, along with Rose Ann's sister Mary (b. abt. 1843 ) and brother Thomas (b. abt. 1849). Another individual lived in the household; a 44 year-old woman, also named Rosannah. I cannot read her last name.
- Added State of New Jersey marriage record for Rose Ann McGuire ("Rosa" in the marriage record) and Thomas Carr (recorded as Thomas "Cann" in the index but clearly "Carr" in the actual record). They were married in Randolph Township, Morris County, New Jersey in April, 1867. Rose Ann's parents were identified here as William McGuire and Susan McGuire. Thomas' parents were not identified in the record.
- Added 1870 U.S. Census for Randolph Township, Morris County, New Jersey. Rose Ann (McGuire) Carr is identified as Anna Carr here.

The nine known children of Rose and Thomas were: Mary, Susan, Rose, James, Margaret, John, William Joseph, Lena (Ellena) & Thomas.
