Elizabeth McKenzie (married name Ayres) was born on 23 May 1857 in Birregurra, Winchelsea, Victoria, Australia, daughter of Amelia Emily (Sime) McKenzie and Peter McKenzie.^{[citation needed]}

She married William Ayres on 20 August 1877 in Birregurra.^[1] Their children were:
