US Congressman. Elected to represent New Hampshire's 1st District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1887 to 1889, and 1891 to 1893. He was also a Candidate for Governor of New Hampshire in 1892, United States Minister to Colombia from 1893 to 1896, and Member of the Maine State House of Representatives in 1907.
