Biography

Louisa Jane "Laura" McLaughlin was born October 22, 1853 in Lee, Iowa. She died April 30, 1942 in Independence, Montgomery, Kansas at age 89.

Daughter of Robert W. McLaughlin (1796–1854) and Lucinda Shaw (1817–1897).

1860 United States Census, Washington Township, Mercer, Missouri: David Coon is head of household, a farmer age 53, with wife Lucinda Coon age 43, and children A. J. McLaughlin, a farm laborer age 22, Phidelia McLaughlin age 16, Charles McLaughlin age 13, W. A. Coon age 11, W. W. McLaughlin age 7, L. J. McLaughlin age 6, Angelia Coon age 3, and Henry Coon age 6 months.

1870 United States Census, Washington Township, Mercer, Missouri: David I. Coon is head of household, a farmer age 63, with wife Lucinda Coon age 53, and children Luzilla Coon age 13, Henry Coon age 10, and Louisa McLaughlin age 16.

Louisa Jane McLaughlin married William Thomas "Bill" Flowers c. 1870.
