Biography
John McMahon was born on 12 April 1871 in the Townland of Gowerhass where his father, Morty, was a farmer. He is the son of Mortimer McMahon and Anne McInerny[1].
John McMahon was baptised on 11 April 1871, with his place of residence being given as Gowerhass. This is recorded in the Parish Registers of St Senan's Roman Catholic Church Kilrush, Diocese of Killaloe, County Clare[2].
