Mary McNair was born in the Cherokee Nation in 1845. She is listed with her parents and siblings on the 1851 Drennan Roll, living in the Saline District. [1] Mary married Benjamin Franklin Adair in 1869. [2] The 1880 Cherokee Census lists B.F., Mary, and children Brice Martin, Sarah, William, George (died young), and Cherokee. [3]
Mary died in 1885 and is buried at Ross Mayes Cemetery in present day Salina, Mayes County, Oklahoma. [4]
