Biography

William Charles McRae was born November 22, 1876, in Rison, Arkansas. He married LIllie May Young on December 15, 1915. The ceremony was performed in the Young home of Rev. Holt, a Presbyterian minister. They lived near Rison for several years and were the parents of nine children:

Nell- died in infancy and buried in Varnell Cemetery near Rison, Arkansas.

Katherine- married Travis Harris

William Charles II- married Gotha Majors

Bruce- married Maureen Ratterree

Frances Evelyn- married Curtis Crabb

Dorothy Jean- married Lt. Col. Dale R. Miller

Jack Edward- married Dorothy McGee

Mildred Louise- married Leonard Earl Drake

Thomas Ronald- married Jo Ann Clary

He died October 3, 1940 and was buried in Varnell Cemetery. His remains and those of their infant daughter Nell were later moved to Drake Cemetery near Star City, Arkansas.
