Biography

Alexander McRae was born in the Colony of Victoria (1851-1900)

Alexander McRae, son of William McRae (abt.1843-1915) and Clara Catherine (Farmer) McRae (1858-1935), was born in 1892 in South Melbourne, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.^[1]

He married Millicent (Amelia) Irene Myrtle Pretty in 1916.^[2] Their children were:

• Alexander William McRae (1917-)
• Eileen May McRae (1921-)
• Kevin George McRae (1925-)

Amelia died in 1930^[3] and Alexander next married Agnes Eunice Meigan in 1941.^[4] Their child was:

• Marie Theresa McRae

Agnes died in 1947^[5] and Alexander next married Florence Dobson, widow of William Blewett Staubyn, in 1949.^[6]

Alexander died from Uraemia, atherosclerosis, congestive cardiac failure (CCF), peripheral vascular disease (PVD) on 26 June 1973 in Noble Park, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia at age 81,^[7] and was buried on 27 June 1973 in The Necropolis, Springvale, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.^[8]

Alexander's third wife, Florence, also died shortly after Alexander on 18 September 1973^[9] and was buried in The Necropolis, Springvale, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.^[10]

Probate on Alexander's estate was granted on 22 April 1974^[11] and that of his widow Florence on 7 October 1974.^[12]
