Born in San Pietro a Maida in 1872 to Giovanni Domenico Medaglia and Caterina Serratore. He married Santa Amelia Gullo there in 1898 before coming to America. They had a total of five children between 1899 and 1914. One child, Francesco, was from a previous marriage.
He passed away in 1948.
