Biography
He was born in Öhringen in 1576, and died in Neukirchen (near Borna) in 1675.
He attended preparatory school in Öhringen, and in 1594 was admitted to the University of Tübingen , where he received his bachelors' degree on September 11 of that same year.
In 1595, he was admitted to the University of Jena (now Friedrich Schiller University Jena), and the following year to Leipzig University. He became a pastor in Neukirchen in 1599.
(Wikipedia has a page on a minister named David Meder (1548-1616), who had eight children. I suspect that this may well be David Bernhard's father (if not at least his paternal uncle), but have no way to draw that connection.)
