Ann Mell was born on 22 Dec 1791 and baptised at Womersley in Yorkshire with her parents names as William (a farmer) and Mary Mell of Little Smeaton (from Bishop's transcript)[1] The Church register records her father as John Mell a farmer.[2]
Ann Mell married Peter Billiald at Sculcoates in Yorkshire on 27 Jan 1819 when both single and of the Parish.[3][4]

Ann Lister was buried at Sturton-le-Steeple on 1 May 1873 aged 81.[6]
