Biography

Ezekiel Mennear was baptised on 29 June 1794 at St Breock, Cornwall. He was the yougest of seven children of John Mennear and Ann Carveth. [1]

On 30 October 1820 Ezekiel Menneer of St Breock married Mary Davey of Egloshayle at Egloshayle with consent of her parents. The witnesses were John Meneer, John Davey and Phillipa Davey. [2] Mary was only 13 at the time of the marriage. There were four children from the marriage:

Philip Manneer, Egloshayle 1824
Ann Manneer, Egloshayle 1828
William Meneer, Egloshayle 1829

In 1824 Ezekiel Meneer a bargeman aged 30 was discharged from Bodmin Gaol. [3]

At the 1871 census Ezekiel is an inmate of the Bodmin Union Workhouse [4] Ezekiel died there in 1875 aged 81 [5]
