Nellie was born about 1863 in Tennessee. She was the daughter of Garrett Merrell and Amy Walker. She passed away in 1933 in Arkansas.

Nellie Alice Merrell married Fellie Filmore Tillery the 14 Jan 1877 in Giles Co., Tennessee. Fellie, was married first to Nellie's sister, Rebecca E Merrell. They were only married 26 days when Rebecca died.
