Mrs. Guy B. Force
Mary Meskimen was born in Birds Run, Ohio, in 1886 [sic, should read 1868] and passed away October 31, 1938.
She came to Kansas when she was four years old. The family settled on a homestead south of Onaga and here she grew to womanhood. She was married to Benjamin Esquire Tryon. Four children were born to them, Allen, John, Ida and Lydia. Three died in infancy. Ida remains and was with her mother when the end came.
She was married to Guy B. Force in 1913. They lived in Kansas City, Mo., for seventeen years then moved to Wheaton.
Mrs. Force leaves to mourn her passing her daughter, Ida, also nine grandchildren, Allen, Cecil and Robert Maskil of Kansas City, Mo.; Mrs. Carroll Ahlstedt of Lindsborg; Mrs. A. L. Pinet of Kansas City, Mo.; and Dorothea, Geraldine, Rosalie and Arline Maskil of the home. Three great grandchildren are left; A. L. Pinet, Timothy Patrick Pinet and Robert Lee Ahlstedt. Mrs. Mary Force had one brother, Harry Meskimen and a half- brother, George Malone, also dead.
She was a member of the Wheaton lodge of Royal Neighbors, having joined that lodge in 1909. She was brought up in the Baptist Church of Onaga where her father and mother were leading members. She died Monday October 31st, 1938, at six A.M. and was buried from the Wheaton Congregation church and interment was in the Wheaton Cemetery.
Reverend Edward V. Gardner conducted the service.[2]
