Sarah was the daughter of George Jackson Messamore and Mary Jane Armstrong Messamore. She married Jechonias P.Pool at Bainbridge on May 6, 1873. She died from complication of a house fire. She is buried in P.Pool Cemetery in Christian County, KY.
