Maria Kierstina Mikkelsdatter was born at Forseng, Mo, Nordland, Norway and was christened on "18d Søndag efter Trenetatis" 1812 (27 Sep), according to the Kirkebok for Hemnes / Mo (Nord-Rana). [1]

Maren can be found on the 1865 census for Mo prestjeld at the age of 55 with her husband Peder Christopherssen, age 61, and two sons Christopher Pederssen, age 25, and Michael Pederssen, age 19 in the census for district 001: Dalsgrænden og Alteren. :
