James Thomas Miller was born in Jackson, Mississippi, on April 3, 1923, to Joseph Miller and Lenora Davidson.[1] [2] He married Joyce Haskins, daughter of Fred Haskins and Lena Strecker, in December 1945.[3] They had three children.
Joyce died on January 8, 2001, in Columbus, Georgia. James lived another thirteen years, passing on December 5, 2014, in Hatchechubbee, Russell, Alabama aged 91.[4]
According to the obituary, James was in the US Army and served in Korea. He was awarded the Purple Heart. Retired as a Major.
